El Comité responsable de la elaboración de la ISO 45001, acaba de aprobar el Borrador Final de la Norma (FDIS), lo que supone que este estándar se publicará, previsiblemente, en marzo. Con el consenso de 100 expertos de más de 70 países, ISO (Organización Internacional de Normalización), de la que el miembro la Asociación Española de Normalización, UNE, han desarrollado un documento que describe un Sistema de Gestión de la Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo, que conduce a un compromiso de toda organización que lo implante, con la mejora progresiva del entorno laboral
De esta forma, culmina el trabajo realizado durante los últimos cinco años por el Comité ISO PC 283, formado por más de 100 expertos de 70 países, entre ellos de España a través de UNE. La ISO 45001 está basada en referenciales ampliamente reconocidos, como OHSAS 18001; de hecho, la ISO 45001 recoge la mayoría de sus requisitos.
Nuevos requisitos

Entre los principales avances, refuerza el papel de la alta dirección en el liderazgo del Sistema de Gestión de la Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo, como parte relevante en su estrategia de negocio. Además, pone más énfasis en el contexto en el que trabaja la organización y en la gestión de sus riesgos; no sólo limitado al efecto negativo de la incertidumbre, sino también para aprovechar el conjunto de circunstancias que pueden conducir a la mejora del desempeño (oportunidades). Asimismo presenta la estructura de alto nivel común con los documentos de gestión más empleados en el mundo, ISO 9001 (Calidad) e ISO 14001 (Medio Ambiente), con lo que las organizaciones ya certificadas en estos referenciales tendrán más fácil su implantación.
Además, se refuerza la demostración del cumplimiento de los requisitos legales y otros que la organización suscriba, así como el desarrollo de indicadores para demostrar la mejora continua. Igualmente, se enfatiza la participación de los trabajadores en todos los niveles de la organización. Esta norma incluye un Anexo con orientaciones para su uso.
La norma, voluntaria, está destinada para aplicarse a cualquier organización independientemente de su tamaño, tipo o actividades y es certificable por una tercera parte independiente.
Anula la OHSAS 18001
Está previsto que con la publicación de esta Norma se anule el estándar OHSAS 18001, actualmente el más difundido para la gestión de la seguridad y salud en el trabajo. Lo tienen implantado organizaciones de 130 países y, en España, miles de empresas y organizaciones están certificadas; sólo con AENOR, el principal certificador, hay 1.165.

Among the main advances, it reinforces the role of senior management in the leadership of the Safety and Health at Work Management System, as an important part of its business strategy. In addition, it places more emphasis on the context in which the organization works and on the management of its risks; not only limited to the negative effect of uncertainty, but also to take advantage of the set of circumstances that can lead to performance improvement (opportunities). It also presents the common high level structure with the most used management documents in the world, ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environment), so that organizations already certified in these references will have easier implementation.
In addition, the demonstration of compliance with legal requirements and others that the organization subscribes is reinforced, as well as the development of indicators to demonstrate continuous improvement. Likewise, the participation of workers at all levels of the organization is emphasized. This standard includes an Annex with guidelines for its use.
The standard, voluntary, is intended to apply to any organization regardless of its size, type or activities and is certifiable by an independent third party.
Cancels OHSAS 18001
